Transportation System

This transportation system was developed to replace the old system that used a lot of paper and documents, and to reduce errors in the workflow. The system involves three user groups: customers, drivers, and back-office staff.

Project Background & Problem

The previous transportation management system relied heavily on manual, paper-based processes. This approach led to significant bottlenecks, including data loss, inaccuracies, and a lack of real-time tracking. Delays in returning physical documents from drivers caused a domino effect, slowing down backend operations such as job closures and customer billing. Additionally, the lack of proper navigation tools for drivers resulted in inefficient delivery routes and increased operational costs.

Project Goal

To design and develop a mobile application that drives a full digital transformation toward a paperless workflow. The app serves as a real-time data bridge connecting all operations:

  • Receive: Fetch delivery orders directly from the ERP system, providing step-by-step tasks for drivers.

  • Execute: Enable seamless on-screen customer sign-offs (e-Signature) immediately upon delivery.

  • Sync: Automatically sync real-time status updates back to the ERP for instant job closures, while forwarding transportation data to the TMS (Transport Management System) for continued workflow management.
